Your Coach & Guide
Hi, I'm Tom Walsh
I started running marathons at age 50 — not to win, but because my friend Mark was fighting prostate cancer and needed teammates. That first NYC Marathon with Fred's Team changed everything for me.
Since that 2019 race I've run 10+ marathons, become a USATF and RRCA certified coach, and helped Team Mark raise over half a million dollars for cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
I know what it feels like to start from scratch in midlife. I know the overwhelm of signing up for your first marathon and having to raise thousands of dollars for charity at the same time. I wrote the book — literally — to help people just like you.
Whether you're 25 or 75, a couch potato or a former athlete returning to the sport, your journey can start today. Your purpose will carry you through.
"Fast or slow, finishing makes you part of a rare group — less than 1% of people will ever complete a marathon. That accomplishment is extraordinary."
